Debra Steidel - Wimberley TX

The lidded vessel has been the primary direction of my work for the last 10 years in expressing my love and wonderment of the natural world . I make hand thrown porcelain vessels in classic, time honored shapes and use a variety of techniques including; carving, texturing, relief sculpting and glazing to give each piece its individual character. Being a potter for most of my life, I have worked with clay to the furthest limits of my vision. Introducing new materials, initially bronze and glass, has enhanced my work in the way I see and express each form.
