Dakota Pratt - Dallas, TX

Dakota Pratt makes bottle cap - covered pop art: giant oranges, bananas, hearts, stars, and more, as well as more functional furniture. He first builds a wood form which he then covers with bottle caps that he has flattened, one at a time, with a mallet. Many of his pieces are on metal stands which he also makes. Pratt, an award winning artist who most recently won the Lincoln Innovation Award, began creating art at age seven. His artistic focus is on functional sculptures & contemporary furniture. After graduating from the Columbus College of Art & Design with a BA, Dakota began exhibiting his work in art galleries & shows across the country. His work is now available in over ten galleries throughout the US. Dakota also exhibits in regional fine art shows year round. Dakota's art has been influenced by the works of Henry Spencer Moore, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol and Claes Oldenburg.
