Astronomy, physics and astrobiology captivate me. Concepts of dark energy, planetary nebulas, galaxies, supernovas and more, inspire me and serve as the foundation for my work. I am drawn to the dark, mysterious, beauty of space and what lies within. Compelled to understand how we are connected and how it all fits together. Through my work, I hope to gain a better understanding of the scientific and philosophical theories concerning our universe and to further develop my artistic process. My paintings evolve slowly: I build up layers of wax and scrape them away to add depth and dimension. In this process, I aim to bring a sense of past and present to the work.
