My focus in on the surface of the cloth. I build my pieces to be worn gently on the body. I mix my own dyes. I over-dye and discharge the color using a shape=-resist method. I employ metal to create an additional resist. I take the silk to where I want it to go. My work is collaged and pieces. I make use of heat and time. My references come from where my eyes land. Traces of what has happened: evidence revealing the memory of a gesture. Skid marks.  Bundles.  Walls.
